What is Swachhata Hi Seva 2024?
Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2024 is a nationwide campaign initiated by the Ministry of Jal Shakti and the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India. It marks a significant milestone as the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) prepares to celebrate its tenth anniversary. The campaign aims to reignite public participation and awareness in cleanliness initiatives across India under the theme 'Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskar Swachhata'.

The campaign will be conducted across cities, towns, and rural areas throughout India, including Baghpat district. Local communities, educational institutions, public spaces, and iconic landmarks will be focal points for cleanliness drives and awareness programs.

How Will Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 Be Implemented?
- Cleanliness Drives (Shramdaan): Volunteers and participants will engage in extensive clean-up activities targeting identified cleanliness hotspots (Cleanliness Target Units) to improve local hygiene standards.
- Public Participation and Advocacy: Awareness campaigns, rallies, and community discussions will mobilize citizens to take ownership of cleanliness initiatives and advocate for sustainable practices.
- Educational Workshops: Schools, colleges, and community centers will host workshops focusing on waste management, recycling, and the importance of sanitation in daily life.
- Health Camps for Sanitation Workers: 'Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivirs' will provide health check-ups, safety gear, and social security coverage to sanitation workers, acknowledging their critical role in maintaining cleanliness.
