Towards Achieving Bigger by Siya Bhardwaj

We, as individuals of a society, are always in a quest of achieving bigger in our personal lives; which I would say is absolutely right and a basic habit due to human tendency. But have we ever thought of how this "something bigger" should not only be benefitting ourselves but our society as well? This is the reflection of my viewpoint as to how we, Indians, can contribute to our nation's development and successfully achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

By Changing Mindsets

This is a firm belief of mine that we must focus on changing the mindsets of the youth. The sole reason being that what goes inside these ever-pondering, creative, and curious minds would only cause an actual change to take place, and not just the mere fact of thinking positive and wanting all the positivity to spread on its own. Now, let us get to the root of this and proceed with a practical approach.

By Not Just Thinking for Ourselves but for All

Take a hobby, say, painting. Now, the person who is good at painting knows so and keeps on brushing up his skills because he wants himself to improve and perceives his sight in such a way as of it benefitting him at the end of the day. But if he thinks of this very point from a broader view, he can benefit not only himself but a good number of people along with him.

He can start educating other individuals, even the lesser-privileged, who are interested in the same and help them learn a new skill. This implementation could be done by starting a skill-based learning center or even conducting workshops. By doing so, our youth can showcase its ambition in real action and help shape a better future for society.

So by this example put forth, we get to understand the significance of implementation. We learn how actually doing something—taking a few steps at a time—would cause us to get to the top of the ladder, and not just thinking about how high up the ladder is and doing nothing about it anyway.

The Power of Inspiration

Now, I would be utterly wrong if I were to say that our youth has not done much for India to grow in the past years. Be it in the fields of sports, technology, art, business, or whatnot, we Indians have thoroughly left an indelible mark of our legacy and skill in every field we have ventured into and continue to do so.

This brings us to another major point—being inspired. If our youth chooses the correct role models and has a clear aim as to what to achieve and how to grind for what they deserve, the sky is the limit. That is why positive influence is a dire need for us to drive our path toward achieving something bigger.

The Need for Career Guidance

Next comes the growing demand for career counselors. Now, this may seem a bit out of topic, but honestly, it should not. One of the many things that matter the most and can impact a youngster’s life substantially is making the correct decision.

Many times, lack of awareness leads to making an incorrect decision, leaving us to suffer in the end and drastically changing our lives. Now imagine if this were the condition for the majority of Indian youngsters. That way, none of them could even think of ways to make their nation prosper, as they themselves would be going through a lot.

To prevent such a dystopian plot from taking place, the youth must be encouraged by parents and guardians to consult a career counselor in case they are confused. Let us take this vision of a new India to choose what we want to pursue and absolutely excel at it, as that too is for our country's economic growth!

Engage and Grow

For our future leaders to grow, I see youth parliaments and Model United Nations as quite the accurate platforms to be at. In my opinion, when the youth gets exposure to global issues and how they function, each of them provides their own creative solutions.

This, thereby, helps them come out of their shell and deal smoothly with social problems whenever required.

A Collective Step Toward 2047

Now, as we approach our hundredth year of independence, let us initiate and empower even more start-ups, youth clubs, NGOs, and programs—all for a greater cause. Let the word be spread across the most remote areas of our nation that all it takes is a collective step, and we can successfully achieve anything.

This is not just to make India a developed nation by 2047, but for these steps to be seen as a change once and for all.

At the end of the day, it’s wonderful to take part in leadership seminars as a youngster; but what’s even more wonderful is executing all those qualities in the real world itself and making our nation stand out for the ever-shining glory and legacy it upholds.

Well, this is just the beginning towards achieving bigger.
