Aman Kumar became the only representative to be selected from Uttar Pradesh, the participant will become a part of global change in the role of 'Global Compassion Ambassador' through fellowship

Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh | May 24, 2025 — The youth of India are no longer confined to dreaming; they are now turning their aspirations into reality. In yet another proud moment for Baghpat district and the state of Uttar Pradesh, young social changemaker Aman Kumar has been selected for a prestigious international fellowship under the Satyarthi Movement for Global Compassion, an initiative founded by Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi. Chosen from among thousands of applicants from over 250 universities across 22 countries, only 25 youth have been selected for this fellowship — Aman being the sole representative from Uttar Pradesh. Upon completion of the fellowship, the participants will be formally recognized as the world’s first-ever ‘Global Compassion Ambassadors’, granting them opportunities to represent empathy-driven leadership at international forums and advance the inclusion of compassion in global societies.

The month-long residential fellowship will be held in June at Mukti Ashram in Delhi and Bal Ashram in Viratnagar, Rajasthan. During this period, participants will undergo intensive training on themes such as kindness, social justice, and compassion-based leadership. They will also engage in direct dialogues with global thought leaders, social activists, policymakers, and Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi himself. Aman Kumar, as the only youth selected from Uttar Pradesh, will carry the voice of a rising and conscious generation from his state, promoting messages of peace and empathy both nationally and internationally. This program is the world’s first compassion-centric global leadership initiative launched under the guidance of Nobel Peace Laureate Satyarthi. The selection process involved the review of more than 1,200 applications from countries such as the United States, France, Russia, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. Aman was chosen for his deep community engagement, leadership potential, and commitment to social innovation.

Speaking on his selection, Aman said: "Being selected for such a prestigious fellowship as a youth from a rural background is incredibly inspiring. In today’s world, marked by growing social and cultural divisions, spreading the values of kindness, empathy, and social justice has become more critical than ever. Lasting peace can only be achieved through a deep understanding of humanity and the practice of compassion. I am proud to learn and lead under the guidance of Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, and I hope to bring meaningful change in society."

Aman Kumar was recently honoured with the State Youth Award by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. At 22, he hails from Tyodhi village in Baghpat district and has already made his mark on the global stage. He has represented India in UNESCO’s Global Youth Community and currently serves in several leadership roles — as an advisor to the HundrED Innovation Academy (Finland), a member of UNFCCC’s YOUNGO network, an ambassador for the Nature Positive Universities programme supported by Oxford University, a member of the Global Youth Biodiversity Network, and the coordinator of Climate Cardinals India. He also leads as President of Udaan Youth Club. His accolades include the Most Valuable U-Reporter Award by UNICEF India, the Changing Chalks Award by Rishihood University, the EmpowerED Award by EduClouds, among many others. Notably, he also represented Uttar Pradesh as a special youth guest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during India’s 78th Independence Day celebrations.
